Tribal Leaders Meet With Assembly Speaker Núñez

On Monday of this week tribal leaders returned to the State Capitol to meet with Assembly Speaker Fabian Núñez to resume conversations regarding the 5 amended compacts now before the Assembly.

Mark Macarro, chairman of the Pechanga Band of Luiseño Indians, characterized the talks as serious. "Before we were talking,'' he said "Now we're really talking.''
